This "hold" position is good for the beginners trying to practice dips because it develop the upper body strength and endurance. Try to hold this position until failure for few sets and you will know what I mean :)
A pair of stable garden chairs are perfect for dips if you do not have access to parallel bars or dip station.
No access to free weights? Not a problem! Get a small IKEA recycle bag and fill it with water bottle(s) :)
